The steps of galvanising procedure

  • The galvanised steel is cleaned or washed within a degreasing solution
  • After cleaning, the Steel is pickled by being lowered within a vat of diluted hot sulphuric acid. 
  • After that the Steel is fluxed within an aqueous solution. Zinc ammonium chloride is one of the most common solutions used. 
  • After the flux procedure, the galvanised metal or steel is galvanised through immersion within a vat of molten zinc. 
  • Later, the Steel will be inspected for complete coating and consistency.

Even if the section of the Steel is completely exposed, the zinc is going to corrode first. The zinc coating is going to corrode preferentially to the Steel.   • Rust resistance: Galvanised steel is resistant from zinc coating. Methods of galvanising

  • Hot-dip galvanizing: One of the most popular methods for galvanization is hot-dip galvanizing. This procedure is pretty similar to what the name suggests itself. In this process, a cast-iron skillet or steel is dipped within a molten pool of zinc that maintains a temperature of around 860 degrees Fahrenheit. There is a molten bath that starts a metallurgical bond between the receiving metal and the zinc. After you pull out the metal from the bath, it reacts after being exposed to the atmosphere, and zinc mixes with oxygen to form zinc oxide. This is what makes the final protective cover on the material. 
  • Electro galvanising: One of the most unique methods, electric galvanising does not incorporate the paying the material within a molten vat of zinc. Rather, electric current is added to the electrolyte solution that is further applied to the Steel, thereby reducing the positively charged ions to zinc metal. 
  • Pre galvanising: It is much similar to the hot dip galvanising method but done at the first stage of production. It is a procedure that involves rolling the galvanised sheet metal through the cleaning agent to quickly prime the material for galvanising. It is then passed through a pool of molten liquid zinc and required immediately. One of the biggest benefits of this method is that the coils of galvanised steel sheet can be quickly galvanised on a large scale with unified coatings as compared to the conventional hot dip method.
